Licensing System Migration: LemonSqueezy → Freemius

We want to inform our users about an important change to the Inactive Logout licensing system and explain how it affects existing customers.

Transparency and reliability are extremely important to us, and this post outlines what changed, why we made the decision, and what steps affected users need to take.

Why we migrated our licensing system

Inactive Logout has grown significantly, and with that growth came the need for a more robust, scalable, and developer-friendly licensing platform.

After careful evaluation, we decided to migrate our licensing infrastructure from LemonSqueezy to Freemius. This change allows us to:

• Improve license validation reliability
• Provide better update and renewal handling
• Offer a more stable long-term licensing solution
• Improve support and future feature delivery

This migration positions Inactive Logout for continued improvement and long-term sustainability.

What changed?

Due to technical differences between LemonSqueezy and Freemius:

• Licenses issued via LemonSqueezy can no longer be validated on the new Freemius system
• Existing LemonSqueezy licenses will not activate on newer versions of the plugin
• Updates and support now rely entirely on Freemius licensing
• Existing Licenses on LemonSqueezy have been cancelled by default.

Unfortunately, this limitation is unavoidable when migrating between two independent licensing providers.

Who is affected?

If you have received an email from us regarding this change then you are affected, no action is required.

This change only affects existing customers who purchased Inactive Logout through LemonSqueezy before the migration.

If you purchased the plugin after the migration, no action is required.

What do affected customers need to do?

Affected users will need to repurchase the plugin through our official website so that a new Freemius license can be issued.

To ensure this transition is fair and cost-free, we are providing a 100% discount for eligible customers.

• Valid Until: January 31, 2026
